About Us

The Acadia Foundation is a management body established by Ministerial Order under the Alberta Housing Act for the purpose of managing social housing developed and financed by various levels of government.

Within the regulations and guidelines of the Alberta Housing Act, the Foundation provides housing services that are sound, comfortable, and affordable and secure to persons with a housing need.

In all its programs and activities, the Foundation is accountable to the Minister responsible for Housing Specials Areas 2, 3 & 4, Town of Hanna, Town of Oyen, M.D. of Acadia #34, Village of Youngstown, Village of Consort, Village of Veteran and Village of Empress.

Acadia Foundation: Hanna, Consort & Oyen Lodges

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide affordable room and board for senior citizens who are functionally independent with the assistance available through existing community-based services and who would not otherwise be more appropriately provided for in a health care facility.
